The different articles represent the main points of entry for navigating about the CD-Rom, they are accessible via the main menu situated at the top of the screen. Clicking on the item corresponding to the article of your choice uploads the article and provides access to the main navigation commands.
The contents table which appears at the center of the screen provides access to the different sections and sub-sections of the article. Click on the section of your choice.
When a section has been uploaded it is still possible to access the other sections of the article using the left and right arrows positioned just below the text (under the scroll bar). The button at the center enables you to return to the contents table.
The frame to the left of the text is reserved for notes.
Above this frame, there is some times an icon which appears in the form of a red back-arrow, this takes you back to the last selected article or section from your browsing history.
The textual elements outside the main zone (notes zone + text zone) show complementary information concerning the article (brief title of article or section, name of author(s), copyright…).
Different articles are related in terms of their content, as such, the user can access articles addressing similar subjects but belonging to different streams (Composition, Analysis, Perception). In this case the location of the original article is stored in the navigation history. The user can, at any point, go back a step by using the red back-arrow.
